    Antique NW California Twined Dark Background Bowl Created from Gathered Native American Plants

    4 inches high x 9 inches in maximum diameter
    Condition: Very Good: There is light rim wear: This basket is in great condition for its age and type
    Materials: This basket is made from gathered bear grass and conifer root, typical of baskets from this region.
    Some Baskets of this type were used for eating acorn mush. However this basket lacks a twined support band; and, there is no evidence of its use as a food bowl.
    Quality: Fine; there are 12 wefts and 10 warps to the inch.
    The tribal homeland of the Native American who made this basket is in North West California, near the Mouth of the Trinity and Klamath Rivers.
