    An Antique Hand Crafted Gap Stitch Washoe Native American Coiled Single Rod Basket Created from Gathered & Dyed Native American Plants
    Circa 1890 – 1920
    3 inches high x 5 1/4 inches in diameter
    Condition: Good: The basket is a little dusty, there are two rim splits, and some stains on the bottom.
    Description; this basket was made from gathered wild basketry plants in the typical Washoe single rod coiling technique with an oval start.
    The Washoe, a one-time semi nomadic tribe lived in the region near Lake Tahoe, and down to Carson City, Nevada.
    This basket was from a Marin County, California estate.
