Rare Antique D. E. McNicol White Ironstone Holdfast Baby Porringer Feeding Bowl w/ Transferware Baby Bunting & Her Dog Bunch VGUC
This listing is for a charming, rare, antique, transferware, ironstone baby's food bowl. Made at the turn of the century in East Liverpool,
Ohio by the D. E. McNicol Glass Factories, this sweet nostalgic piece is made with thick heavy ironstone (to keep the bowl from tipping over while in use). The main central surface depicts a scene from the Baby bunting Nursery Rhyme: "Baby Bunting & Bunch when out for a walk, Are greatly surprised to hear a bird talk." It includes a colorful image of Miss Baby Bunting, her dog Bunch and a green parrot on a stand. The upper rim is decorated with an ornate gold trim border. It measures 7 1/8" diameter (5 1/4" inner diam.) x 1 5/8" tall. The piece is in very good antique pre-owned condition, with some wear and utensil use marks to the transferware print and gilding.
