    Description

This impressive fragment from a ca. 1895-1905 Chicago building has spent years in the consignors garden and has richly crazed creamy glazed surface on pale fired terracotta body.  Measuring 18 1/2" tall x 8" 7 1/2" deep, this element appears to have topped  a multi-story colonnette and takes the form of a capital with crossed bands on bundled acanthus leaves.  It has exceptional grace and shows some corner losses and bears a style/model number on one side.  I apologize in advance for shipping costs: this pieces will weigh almost 50 pounds safely packaged.
